about

The Warning is the first single off of NACHTMUSE's upcoming EP, titled 'darker skies'

lyrics

The sun is baking the landscape below
Another day of our lives
Our gazes lowered, away from the glare
By routines occupied

The people's hardship rising, it grows harder to maintain
The lives that we still cling to, is it all in vain?

We simply accept every new decree
Never suspecting a lie
Thinking the troubles are sure to end
While slowly we are bled dry

Kings conspire together to change it as they please
Is it for the good of the world, or just their pleasures appeased?
Their pedestal ascending by the plans they've laid
Deception turns us upon our own, confused and afraid

Stop and ask yourself does
There seem to be any
Sign of compassion
Or are they just preparing
An optimal setting
Where we are subdued and
Being born, dying while
Structures benefit their kind?
Is that so mad?

Stop clinging to illusions of allegiance to a side
(No, I know that it's right)
We're one and in the castle our enemy hides
(I see you've strayed from the light)

Tribulation's rising, how much more can we endure?
It's right out there before us: their intentions impure
When our children's children view this as history
Will they see the fools we've been and ask why we didn't flee?

Stop and ask yourself does
There seem to be any
Sign of compassion
Or are they just preparing
An optimal setting
Where we are subdued and
Being born, dying while
Structures benefit their kind?
Or are you blind?
